ODESSA — There was no lack of support Wednesday, Oct. 9, as classmates, friends and family filled the track at Odessa High School to church on the athletes of the 10th annual Special Olympics Track and Field Day in Odessa.

More than a dozen schools participated in the event.

Warrensburg, Crest Ridge, Holden, Chilhowee and Leeton represented Johnson County.

The events moved quickly in the morning in an attempt to finish before the incoming storms sat in for the day.

A majority of the field events were completed but some of the track events had to be finished inside as rain sat in about 11:30 a.m.
