WARRENSBURG — Warrensburg star running back Miles Moore’s recruiting came down to two schools — Central Missouri and rival Northwest Missouri State.

    OAK GROVE — A 20-0 run to open Friday, Feb. 7, game against Oak Grove was all Warrensburg needed to secure its fourth win in a row, dispatching the Lady Panthers 50-28.

    Knob Noster’s Kelsey Burden added another first to her resume on Saturday, Feb. 8, becoming the first two-time state wrestling qualifier for the Lady Panthers.

              The Crest Ridge and Leeton girls wwill face off in the Quarry City Classic championship game at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, after both teams secured wins in the semifinals on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

              CENTERVIEW — Leeton held off Kansas City Lutheran 85-61 in the opening round of the Quarry City Classic on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

              CENTERVIEW — No. 8 seed Holden gave No. 1 seed Crest Ridge a scare in the opening round of the Quarry City Classic, but the Cougars had enough fire power to prevail over the Eagles 69-57 on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

              CENTERVIEW — A 23-point first quarter was all Crest Ridge needed to dispatch the Clinton JV in the opening round of the Quarry City Classic on Monday, Jan. 27, moving on to the semifinals with a 53-35 win.

              CENTERVIEW — The No. 6 Leeton girls began their Quarry City Classic title defense with a 58-7 win over Chilhowee on Monday, Jan. 27.

              WELLINGTON — A sloppy, slow start doomed the Crest Ridge Lady Cougars against Wellington-Napoleon on Saturday, Jan. 25, with Crest Ridge’s four-game winning streak coming to an end with a 54-37 loss.

              CENTERVIEW — A strong second quarter allowed the Knob Noster girls to survive a late run by Sherwood in the opening round of the Quarry City Classic on Monday, Jan. 27, moving on to the semifinals with a 42-34 win.

                Holden wrestling’s Travis Stout is the Cliff Harris’ Warrensburg Ford and Cliff Harris’ Warrensburg Chrysler Jan. 13-18 Male Athlete of the Week for finishing second at 220lbs. at the Missouri River Valley Conference wrestling tournament.

                  KNOB NOSTER — Knob Noster raced out to an early lead but couldn’t hold on against Richmond on Tuesday, Jan. 21, falling 65-47 to the Spartans.

                  The No. 10 Crest Ridge boys took down Lexington 71-57 on Tuesday, Jan. 21, behind 28 points from August Hoeper.

                  OAK GROVE — Knob Noster claimed the Missouri River Valley East title for a second-straight season led by a pair of second place finishes from junior Sam Wilhelm and senior Brodie Payne on Saturday, Jan. 18.

                        Leeton suffered its first loss of the season in the Skyline Tournament semifinals, falling 62-50 to Class 3 Clever.

                        The No. 5 Leeton girls rallied from a halftime deficit to advance to the semifinals of the 13th annual Skyline Tournament on Monday, Jan. 13 with a 46-39 win over Fair Grove.

                        WARRENSBURG — The Warrensburg Tigers ran out of steam against Odessa on Friday, Jan. 10, as the Bulldogs pulled away in the second half to secure a 51-38 win.
