Rev. Peter Norton is an ordained elder in the Missouri Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
He grew up learning about God and growing in faith at Wentzville United Methodist Church in Missouri.
He gave his life to Christ at the age of 13 and studied English literature and philosophy and religion at Truman State University.
Norton’s grandparents were United Methodist ministers and missionaries in Chili, South America.
He and his brother grew up hearing stories about Latin culture and serving people of different backgrounds.
Norton spent a year with his brother living in Colombia, South America, teaching English and learning Spanish.
When he returned to the United States, he began volunteering at the Wentzville United Methodist Church where he discerned a call to ministry.
Norton earned a master of divinity degree from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Norton has served as an associate pastor at First St. Charles United Methodist Church for the past four years.
He, the staff and congregation have focused on gathering new people to faith in Jesus Christ.
Peter is married to Katharine Norton, a licensed architect from Memphis, Tennessee.
They said they love to travel, read, remodel homes and play with their dog Mozart.
