Warrensburg – The Warrensburg Church of the Brethren will host a retirement reception for Pastor Ethmer Erisman from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, in the church fellowship hall at 702 E. Hale Lake Road.

Erisman began his ministry in 1942 at his home church, Shoal Creek Church of the Brethren in Fairview, Missouri.

Ordained in 1944, he served churches in Johnson County, Missouri, including Kingsville, Leeton and Warrensburg until Dec. 31, 2016.

His last 14 years were at the Warrensburg Church of the Brethren where he participated in a team ministry model with other pastors in the church.

Erisman participated in the annual CropWalk with his pony and cart, carrying those who wanted to ride and often brought animals to church for the children to pet.

A special recognition is planned at 2:45 p.m. to honor his 74 years of ministry.
