Work commutes average 18 minutes in Warrensburg

The average travel time to work in the state of Missouri is 23.7 minutes, but it varies greatly by location. recently released a study on the best and worst commutes in Missouri using the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The Missouri average travel time to work has risen 0.3%.

The study lists the 50 best and 50 worst commutes. Warrensburg came in at No. 36 for shortest commutes. This year’s average travel time to work for residents of the 64093 ZIP code is 18.2 minutes, compared to 17.8 in 2018. Last year Warrensburg’s ranking was No. 28.

Another Johnson County community, Holden, is listed in the top 10 longest commutes. At No. 6 on that list, the average commute to work for those in Holden is 34.7 minutes.

The five shortest commutes in the state are in:

• Milan, 63556: 11.6 minutes;

• Rock Park, 64482: 12.0 minutes;

• Nevada, 64772: 13.2 minutes;

• Maryville, 64468: 13.4 minutes; and

• Marshall, 65340: 13.8 minutes.

The five longest commutes in the state are in:

• Cedar Hill, 63016: 36.7 minutes;

• Kingsville, 64061: 36.6 minutes;

• Hillsboro, 63050: 35.8 minutes;

• Lawson, 64062: 35.4 minutes; and

• De Soto, 63020: 34.7 minutes.
