Building found to be structurally sound after car drives through brick wall

More than a week after a vehicle was driven into the side of a building June 5 at 604 N. Maguire St., tenants of the building are cleared to move back in. Residents of the building were evacuated after a Lexus ES 350 knocked down a handrail, jumping the space between buildings, breaking through the brick wall on the side of the building and coming to rest inside the top level that was vacant at the time. Tenants in the lower levels were evacuated after the incident but have been cleared to return after the building was determined to be structurally sound, City Building Official Brett Penrose said.
