WARRENSBURG — With spring in full swing and rain pouring down most of the morning, the Master Gardeners of Johnson County hosted its annual Plant Sale May 18 at Blind Boone Park.

More than 200 kinds of plants were available to the public. Flowers, vegetables, herbs and cacti were on display, divided by kind and care.

Plants were contributed or donated by the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg High School and members of the Master Gardeners of Johnson County, often coming out of member’s home gardens.

Despite heavy rainfall, the plant sale had a crowd early in the day and a steady stream of people until 1 p.m. when the sale ended, according to event organizers.

The annual plant sale serves as a fundraiser for the Master Gardeners of Johnson County.
