Fireworks light the sky over Warrensburg during the 2016 Fourth of July Freedom Fest Spectacular sponsored by Warrensburg Parks and Recreation Department and Grover Park Baptist Church.

Grover Park Baptist Church has once again invited the public to join in celebrating the Fourth of July during the Freedom Spectacular beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4, at 409 N. Mitchell St.

This event, which is sponsored by Grover Park Baptist Church, Warrensburg Parks and Recreation and the American Legion, will include free food, fun and games, a concert by the community band at 7:30 p.m. and of course, fireworks at dusk.

This is the eighth year this event has been sponsored.

Church information states it draws more than 3,000 people a year.

Handicapped parking will be available in the upper church parking lot.

Be sure to bring lawn chairs and/or a blanket to sit on.

Be sure to register as you arrive for one of the many door prizes that will be given out over the course of the evening.
