Mollie Dinwiddie sings beside Mark Pearce as part of the chorus during a past “Summer Singers, Some’re Not” sing-along. The 2019 event is set for July 11.

The 13th annual “Summer Singers, Some’re Not” community sing-along invites all singers—whether they sound good or not—to join in from 7 to 9 p.m. July 11 at the Warrensburg Community Center, 445 E. Gay St.

Sing 40 familiar songs with words and live accompaniment provided.

“In just two hours, we’ll sing 40 familiar songs, such as ‘Take Me Home Country Road,’ Seventy-Six Trombones,’ ‘Peggy Sue’ and ‘Stand By Me,’” event organizer Mary Alice Lyon said. “In addition, with all the wet weather we have been having, it’s kind of appropriate that we’ll also include ‘Singin’ in the Rain,’ ‘Over the Rainbow’ and ‘I can see clearly now.’”

This year’s song leaders include Melissa Gower, Mark Pearce, Meryl Lin McLean, Kathy Ray Smith, Mollie Dinwiddie, John Roberts and Beth Rutt.

Denise Robinson on the piano, John Check on the bass and Mike Sekelsky on percussion will provide accompaniment.

The event is free and donations appreciated.

The Warrensburg Community Chorus and Warrensburg Parks and Recreation co-sponsor the event.
